Emotional equity is everything…
I’m not sure when my obsession with Orcas started but…I’m obsessed. I feel like their hunting style is what drew me in. Because when in their natural habitat, they move as a unit. Using techniques that require intentional intelligence. Strategy is a form of seduction to me. And when I see it effortlessly implemented…I feel things. So studying a breed that finds pleasure in face playing with their prey, pre-consumption, provides a different level of satisfaction for me. But all that instinctual intellect disappears, when they’re held against their will.
Captivity forces their personalities to morph into something that’s unnatural to their nature. Which can lead to them exhibiting behavior that doesn’t exist in whales with free will. And this is relatable…in so many ways. Because our (emotional) environment is what paints our perception. If we’re taken out of our element, for extended periods of time…with no outlet…we become foreigners to our destined fate. Losing all sense of who we’re meant to be…through our unconscious submission to a forced reality, meant to keep our conscious so captive…that we forget who tf we are.
I’ve seen first hand how isolation can alter a mental state. It’s meant to strip you of all evidence that you actually exist. And once you succumb to this skewed perception…psychological anarchy sets in. Which is why individuals who go through similar experiences, have no choice but to shadow work in silence…to curb the side effects of solitary confinement. Because seeing who we are…beneath the circumstances we’re in…is the only way to keep our sanity safe from sacrifice. Most souls who endure incessant games of solitaire, have no desire to reintegrate back in with the general population. But those who don’t find ways to work through the stagnancy of seclusion…never even get that option. Please don’t be that person.
Love,
Choosy
