Issa thirst trap…
Capitalizing off confusion has been a societal standard for centuries. We’re conditioned to glamorize the things that suck the life out of us. And we’re taught to see the things that actually add value…with little to no real meaning. Love was one of those things I was never taught the real meaning of. The example set was an expectation for it to drain me of all my dreams and desires. So I attracted this in my intimate and platonic relationships. Learning how to love myself, finally reversed my attraction to souls who seemed thirsty to suck mine oooof…dry. Because once I learned that love requires light to also be poured into me, by the receiver of mine, I gained clarity on who came into my life to give…and who was just here to benefit from the motion in my neck.
Realizing the people closest to you fall into the category of suckers…is a sobering experience. And it gets worse when you realize you’ve been trained to think that this is an acceptable type of love. I honestly feel like this misguidance is intentionally given by people too self-serving, to give back what they require. Because for toxic individuals, there’s a certain level of self-imposed importance that comes from receiving more in these imbalanced love connections. Don’t ask me how I know. For people who lack self-love, siphoning someone else’s…is the quickest way to fill that void. Which is why it’s so hard to end one sided connections for those who benefit from them the most. Since that ending symbolizes their supply slipping away.
If someone were to ask me ‘what I feel the cure for all toxic relationships is?’…I’d say self-love…without hesitation. Because it encourages us to set the expectation of others giving us what we give ourselves. It’s easy to allow unequal exchanges to go unnoticed, when we aren’t actively aware of what we need. But when work has been put into building a solid foundation within ourselves, it’s impossible to allow someone to come in and take what they want…without offering to put in. Unfortunately, we live in an alternate Universe. So everything has been…altered…to fit emotionally stunted stereotypes. And energy vampires can sense this lack of direction. Which is why they’re so readily available, to step in and lead their latest victim…down the road of unrequited love.
Love,
Choosy
